A perchcrow in a pear tree

17 Dec
Fletch in the snow

Brrr it’s cold: I’ve just popped out from my cosy shed to see the snow

Winter is a busy time for us all here at Wordsworth House and Garden. Although the house, garden and café are closed, the shop is still open and the rest of the team are hard at work preparing for the new season, which begins in early March.

So, on that note, I offer you my personal take on a traditional Christmas song…

On the twelfth day of Christmas
Gardener Amanda sent to me:
Twelve Inside the National Trust episodes
Eleven weeks to reopening
Ten-sion with presenter Michael Buerk
Nine-month 2014 season
Eight more episodes to go
Seven jams for tasting (in the shop)
Six-day-a-week opening
Five Wordsworth kids
Four costumed servants
Three heritage chickens
Two walled gardens
and a perchcrow in a pear tree

Merry Christmas everybody … and please vote for me in the UK Blog Awards in the Arts and Culture and Most Innovative Blog categories!
